The water is coming out dirty/gray after I installed the filter. Is this normal?
Answer:
Yes, that is normal. There is a carbon block inside the filter and sometimes during shipping, the filter gets knocked around and some of that carbon gets loose. If you drain 2-3 gallons, the water will become clear.
Question:
After installing a new filter element, the water flow rate is slower. What should I do?
Answer:
Don't worry, the filtered water is cleaner. We use activated carbon from Sri Lanka. The carbon rod is a honeycomb hole of uniform size, which can better intercept the particles in the water.
Question:
Is this an exact replacement, filtration and all, of the GE XWF? Meaning, is it certified as NSF 42, 53, and 401?
Answer:
Yes, it is certified NSF 42 and IAPMO certified.
Question:
What is the difference between this product and XWFE?
Answer:
This product does not contain a chip, so "XWFE" cannot be replaced, but you can find related methods on YouTube to replace it.
